Luke’s First Magazine Appearance

Thursday, July 30th, 2009

Luke made it into the University of Texas alumni magazine (The Alcalde) sporting one of his UT outfits. In true Texas form the baby section is called Bevo’s “Calf Corral” (Bevo being the name of the Longhorn mascot).  One of the most amazing things about the picture is seeing how much Luke has changed over the past few months.

St. Louis Weekend

Thursday, July 23rd, 2009

Last weekend we packed up the car and headed down to St. Louis to see our friends Kristal, Mike, and their daughter Abby.  We were introduced to St. Louis style pizza (which we loved), had “gooey butter cake” (another St. Louis tradition), visited Grant’s Farm and The Arch, and even took in a local micro-brewery for lunch.  All-in-all a great weekend!!

Luke’s first crawl

Wednesday, July 15th, 2009

Today was the first day Luke crawled!! He’s been rolling sideways for the past week or so, but this afternoon he finally put all the pieces together and found a forward gear. Turns out all he needed was a little motivation, or as Dan called it “bait.”

Luke’s favorite toy…a textbook.

Go figure. Hundreds of age appropriate, brightly colored toys for Luke to play with and he chooses a $150 textbook instead.

Luke- Week by Week

Saturday, July 4th, 2009

We have been taking a photo of Luke on his giraffe blanket every week since he was born.  It’s amazing to see how much he’s grown in his 6.5 months on earth.  He’s so proud to be taller than the giraffe.
