Luke Austin Windels

After visiting Casey and Rylie we stopped by their local splash pad on the way home to see if Luke wanted to cool off. He was a little timid at first, but was soon chasing down all the water jets in sight. Needless to say he threw a complete fit when it was time to leave. Translation…he had a blast!

While visiting Casey and Lauren a couple of weeks ago Luke picked up Rylie’s harmonica and went to town.

Luke’s new favorite toy is the shopping cart that belongs to our upstairs neighbors and their baby Grace. His only request is some off roading wheels and a little 4-wheel drive to navigate the backyard terrain. Hey, whatever makes him tired works for us.

Last weekend we broke out the kiddie pool for Luke. Here he takes a quick break from playing to say hi to the camera…a first!!

We took Luke to the Lincoln Park Zoo last weekend. Thank goodness it’s a free zoo, because after the sea lions and the monkeys, he was ready to call it a day.

It was his favorite part of the day.

But he backed away from the tank every time a sea lion passed by.

We decided to pack up the family and head to Indianapolis for the weekend. We checked out the downtown area, including a very cool river walk area. And we looked at a cool neighborhood called Broad Ripple.

Back at the hotel, we found a cool fountain and pond.

When asked where the water was, an enthusiastic Luke pointed the way.

An exhausted Luke crashed out at night.

And he immediately requested a king sized bed for the house.

Luke has had some quality buddy time with his friend Viggo and his cousin Rylie.

Luke has been having a fun summer hanging out at the beach, playing outside, and going to parties. Here are some highlights of the last week or so.

Today’s Sunday walk started at DePaul’s Lincoln Park Campus and ended at the Fullerton Ave. beach. Needless to say, Luke had great time playing by the water’s edge. Even though we got there early he did his best to make friends with everyone (and everything) on the beach…babies, parents, dogs, you name it.
